Two years ago, I spent my birthday on the other side of the world. Bogota was the farthest city in the world for me. It took a 35 hour journey for me to get there. That day, we walked in a garden and looked at flowers. When I was 12, I thought that when youContinue reading “M”

Mga Kaibigan (Friends)
I take a lot of photographs but it often takes me months before I see them again after the moment of taking. I mostly photograph people around me. I used to think that I would have a life as a photographer but right now, that’s not the life I have. Today I found these photographsContinue reading “Mga Kaibigan (Friends)”
A Tiny Box
In March 2017, Marta, a former teacher of mine arrived in Lisbon. She had been to Colombia and told me that my friend Anna sent a package for me. When I had met Marta, she handed me a tiny woven box, that fit in my palm. In it was a note and a pair ofContinue reading “A Tiny Box”
Open Eyes
I arrived in Taipei in the night.
Swimming in the Sea
When she was pregnant with my sister, she travelled on a boat with our father to go to an island a couple of hours away.
On the Road
On the road. I don’t remember to where.
A Curve in the Sky
I left Lisbon almost suddenly. My lease was up in a week, and my internship at Terratreme had just finished. Winter was leaving. I knew it because I began to sweat profusely during my bike rides to work – that never happens in the winter. In winter, I’d bike in the biting cold morning. EventuallyContinue reading “A Curve in the Sky”
New Homes
A series of portraits that I’ve taken over the years, of the people who are part of me.
Budapest is Waiting
In January we moved to Budapest. It was winter and the first morning we spent in the city was one of the few days of snow. Winter was an exciting concept because I’ve never really experienced it but it was also very alien. It felt like the city was alien to me or, that IContinue reading “Budapest is Waiting”
Bus Ride Home
When we moved in to our new flat that’s a few meters short of being in the city, the first thing that I worried about was going home. There was one bus that took us straight to school. It wasn’t the shortest bus ride but over the past months, I enjoyed taking it.
Paris was good
I took very few photographs of Paris. I had V with me, an analog camera Krish bought at a cash converters shop fifty steps away from his house in Arroios. When he told me about V, I thought it was excessive. But 8 months into the future, V is my only companion on my wayContinue reading “Paris was good”
Birthday Notes
YUGOSLAVAN
We went on a road trip last Easter, my friends and I. It was a long one, and we crossed country borders in a car. Yali and I were particularly ecstatic. If you live in an archipelago, crossing borders while driving is not an idea you entertain a lot, and for Yali, she says sheContinue reading “YUGOSLAVAN”
Viszontlátásra Giovanni Gallotta
I remember coming home one night. “Fuck it’s so cold. Fuck Fuck My boots are so heavy. Malayo pa ba? This building is so creepy. Is anybody home..”
Winter
We arrived in Budapest in one of the very few days that there was snow. In the last years, snow became a less frequent visitor during winter. Within two weeks, we already had to begin making our first films in Budapest and I worked with Ida.
